​Casa Italiana offers a new learning path for children participating in the Sunday course of Italian Immersion.

 

We offer different courses, different levels, from Preschool (level zero) to Advanced (teenagers), which include native Italians. We welcome the student who has had no Italian language instruction, as well as the student who wants to improve his/her Italian language skills.

 

This new didactic system draws its inspiration from the curriculum used in Italian schools. Its objective is to teach and improve the linguistic competence of students for the learning of the Italian language.

 

Students’ progress will be evaluated in January, at the halfway mark of the course, and after the final test the students will receive a certificate at the end of the course.

 

The objective of this new methodology is to provide optimal continuity to the learning process and to maximize the continued development of the students’ four linguistic skills (comprehension, expression, reading and writing.) within the respect of the specific needs of each age bracket and each scholastic setting. Our classes include Italian grammar, Italian History, Italian Geography and Italian Literature, All this, thanks to the annual duration of the courses and the language skills activities specifically designed for foreign students, including:

 

•Reading-writing learning paths designed to learn the basic lexicon and fundamental morphosyntactic structures;

•Total physical response;

•Use of official textbooks;

•Use of iconographic material;

•Games or other activities that use language as a tool to reach an objective;

•Systematic use of songs to learn lexicon and structures;

•Our native teachers aim to speak (90%) in Italian, and are trained to teach Italian as a second language, among their high level preparation.

 

According to the need of  each class, the learning material include: course’s  book , Power Points presentations, audiovisual materials, video of Italy, and games, +  additional documents on grammar.

 

Our school has classrooms designed with students in mind: pleasant, bright and catering to their needs.

Our library “ Biblioteca di Olmo”, a space dedicated to reading, welcomes the children and their parents to  spend time and from there they can borrow Italian books and DVDs.

 

Casa Italiana Language School, is just like a home, greets all children, even at early age, who want to learn Italian. It’s a stimulating environment where they can immerse themselves completely in the Italian language

                                       ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 ENROLLMENT

 

The courses on Saturday and Sunday meet one time/week for 3 hours, for a total of 30 lessons

Tuition’s + Book Cost: $1,200.

 

The courses on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday meet one time /week for 1.5 hour – 30 weeks

Tuition’s + Book Cost: $800

 

Registration & Payment must be completed by September 10, 2023. 

Discounts – 5% family discount (inquire at the school office) for all siblings.

The entire enrollment could be done online or over the phone or in person. It’s possible the payment of the full tuition: $1,200 or possibility to split in two (September and January).
